So earlier this year I was trying to book flights for my son and his girl to come visit me in Costa Rica. It was spring break so tickets were pricey, and I was wanted to use some of my miles to make it doable. When I plugged in the itinerary and hit the search button I was blown away by how many miles it would take. I thought, " I could go to Australia for that...then I thought .... could I go to Australia for that?" The answer was yes and with my big 50 looming in the distance, I booked it for November before all the reasons I shouldn't do it flooded my head. So that is where I'm at now.
As a little girl, I always dreamed of going to Australia. I would tell anyone who listened, "When I grow up I'm going to be a National Geographic Photogragher, live in Australia and marry a rich Australian sheep rancher." With all the traveling I do, Australia just never fit, so I would put it off and put it off. Well, it's never too late, and hey, even though the National Geographic Photographer is probably out, I could find that rich Australian sheep rancher.😉
So I just arrived in Sydney, my first stop, after a 17.5 hour flight from Houston. It actually couldn't have been better. The two seats next to me were empty and with my eyepatch, pillow, noise cancelling head phones and my cozy blanket I slept 10 hours and am know ready to explore.
Can't wait!
Thanks for reading.
