First Post!!!
“Iron rusts from disuse; stagnant water loses its purity and in cold weather becomes frozen; even so does inaction sap the vigor of the mind.” - Leonardo

How exciting! My first post. Well, I'm quickly realizing this is not as easy as I thought, but I will get the hang of it... eventually. Bare with me. So life works in funny ways. I was supposed to begin this journey of mine at 5:20 am yesterday, but mother nature had a different idea. My flight was severely delayed and to make a long story short, I had to rebook for tonight at 8:20 pm. Although that gave me less time in Washington DC, it did give me a few blessings. First, I had two covid tests booked in DC which only had a drive thru to take the test, so I was going to have to rent a car to go through the drive thru to insure I had my test in hand as I boarded my flight to France. Oh did I mention DC got hit by a massive snow storm, so I would have been navigating the streets of DC in an economy car in the snow. So now I tested here in Reno. I did have to pay for it but at least I had a car and got my negative results quick. Second, I spent the whole day working on this website for this blog, which I have been trying to do, but with holidays and such it just didn't get done, so now I can write a real time blog when I visit my first painting. So, see things all work for a reason.

So what exactly am I doing?
Well, I am going on a journey. I'm heading to Europe for a while. My plan is to see as many Leonardo Da Vinci's paintings I can, while also taking time to enjoy where I am at and learn all that comes my way
. My first stop is for the only painting outside of Europe (okay, nobody knows where Salvator Mundi is, but I'm talking the ones the public can view.) Anyway, if all goes well and the plane lands when it should, I will be in the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC by 10 am tomorrow standing in front of Ginevra de' Benci. I will go into more info for that painting tomorrow, but it is one of the four female portraits, and I just love the story. Then I go back to the airport and off to Paris to start another chapter. I don't know how many paintings I will get to see. They are all over, France, Poland, Russia, Germany, UK and of course Italy, but with Omicron variant and countries shutting down again I will just have to be patient. In the mean time, I will just have to blog about all the amazing things Leonardo thought up and explored, there are literally 1000's. It's sort of my way of teaching myself about not only the life and mind of Leonardo Da Vinci, but also #curiosity. Making a conscious effort to just be curious about things. So I hope you will come along on my journey with me.
